Types of Pallet Rack
Selective Pallet Rack is the most common type of pallet racking system. They provide direct access to each pallet, making them ideal for warehouses with a wide variety of products.
Drive-In and Drive Through Pallet Racks are designed for high-density storage. They allow forklifts to drive directly into the rack to access pallets, making them perfect for storing large quantities of similar items

Push Back Pallet Racks use a system of carts and rails to store pallets on a slight incline. When a pallet is removed, the next pallet automatically moves forward, making it easy to rotate inventory.
Pallet Flow Rack is a high-density storage system that uses gravity-powered roller tracks to automatically move pallets from the loading side to the picking side. As new pallets are added, they gently advance the existing load forward, creating a true first-in, first-out workflow ideal for food, beverage, and date-sensitive inventory. By reducing travel time and maximizing vertical and horizontal space, pallet flow rack increases throughput, improves picking efficiency, and delivers consistent, controlled pallet movement with minimal operator handling.
Choosing the Right Pallet Rack System
When selecting a pallet rack system, consider the following factors:
-
Inventory Type: The type and size of your products will influence the best racking system for your needs.
-
Warehouse Layout: Consider the layout and dimensions of your warehouse to optimize space utilization.
-
Accessibility Requirements: Determine how frequently you need to access stored items and choose a system that supports your workflow.
-
Weight Capacity: Ensure the racks can safely support the weight of your heaviest items.
